FLYERS
All these flyers came from working with the Marketing Department on a USAF base in England. They were designed with target markets in mind, and most of them had to be adaptable to fit a verity of uses and sizes (web flyers, full page flyers, quarter page flyers, posters 23x33, etc.).

From a stock photo of a girl painting on a blank canvas I added in all the text on the canvas and overlaid it with a canvas texture. Then I added some red to the paint brush to complete the effect.

Using Photoshop I cut the background out around the woman to place her on a fun background. This is a Caribbean inspired parade, I tried to highlight all the important information and let the pictures speak for the rest of the event.

The library hosted a celebration for Dr. Suess for the kids. Here I cut out several pictures to create one overlaid with some fun Dr. Suess inspired text. It’s bold, stands out, and really conveys its message from a distance.

Using several pre-made vector files, I split up elements and overlapped them to create an “earth party” feeling. Again, I focused on the important information and conveyed the description of the event through images.

I created a poster combining a boys & girls club contest with a local Youth Center. I had to find the logos created by the boys & girls club for the event and incorporate them into a poster to define the contest and convey the Youth Center’s info.

This was a rebrand of an ongoing program. I really like the flow I created around the piece. The baby looks towards the title, then the title has a nice drop shadow that leads into the date and event info which flows into the reg info.

A supplement to the bundles for babies seminar, this flyer was for a series of seminars for moms to be. I played off the movie theme of “now showing” but in a classy subtle way. And I adjusted the flyer as needed removing past events.

Another event by the library, this one was targeted to adult women. I choose the colors to create a classy feeling, and represent the British side of the event with the red and tea and history with the brown.

This one was targeted to adults, both men and women, so I tried to placate more to the history enthused. Using brown and black to create the darkness of the war and the script is to remind you of poetry and history.

One of 5 evergreens (flyers that don’t have a date and can be used again) designed to show off items for rent or sale from Outdoor Recreation. All original photography, this one reminds families that camping can bring them together.

Not all original photography, but using photos from the costume distributors I was able to cut them out really represent a variety of ages and costume types.

Like the other evergreens this one was created to bring light to a new game from Outdoor Recreation. I couldn’t get a good picture of the game, so I recreated the whole thing in Illustrator special effects and all.

A benefit to families with deployed spouses the base hosted a joint dinner between the US & UK to bring people in like circumstances together. I wanted to stress the "joint" so I created the ornaments with flags in Illustrator.

The teen lock-ins were quite popular in the Youth Center. I used a vector for the mirror ball and reflection and choose purple to create excitement.

I found a photo in stock photos that looked crisp and fresh and I changed the color of one of the pins in Photoshop. I paid great attention to detail and I think the result speaks for itself.

This is a good example of finding the perfect photo for the event and working around that photo to create the right message.

A combination of vector images, photos and colors make this flyer scream movie time. I kept the colors traditional red and black and used effects to make the text pop.

Here I used a vector image of a magnifying glass, removed the center lens and used a warp effect to get the text to look like it was being magnified. Then I added the light reflections to complete the effect.

There are some background removals and some Illustrator effects utilized here. I made the stripe at the top look like it’s been sewed simply by adding some dashed lines to a black box.

Every month I had to do calendars for several facilities. For the Youth Center I always tried to do a fun title and incorporate fun graphics for holidays. These calendars are good examples of how detail oriented I am.
